Honeywell HPA300 Review: Comprehensive analysis
Like its sibling, the Honeywell HPA300 air purifier has been winning hearts left, right, and center from impressed homeowners, thanks to its consistently impeccable results.
Here is what to expect..
Honeywell HPA300: Construction and Design
The enclosure is made of plastic all around but it feels very sturdy.
Moving on, the purifier measures 20.08 x 10.83 x 22.32” so it will fit nicely on the floor or tabletop.
And because of its low-profile shaping, you can even place it in a corner or next to walls.
Then, the Honeywell hpa300 air purifiers weigh just 16.8 pounds so they’re reasonably lightweight.
It’s also good looking, just like most of the air purifiers built for bigger rooms such as the Winix 5500-2 Air Purifier.
Honeywell HPA300: Performance and operation
All topnotch filter-based air purifiers have a true HEPA filter doing all the heavy lifting and this is no exception.
It captures nearly all microscopic allergens (even the finest – as small as 0.3 microns) and dust.
Also excellent is the pre-filter when it comes to battling bad smells/gases, volatile organic compounds, and some larger particles.
The speeds are germ, general clean, allergen and turbo- with the turbo speed superb when cleaning spaces with highest concentration of allergens.
You increase/lower the fan speed by tapping on the responsive touch control panel.
And believe it or not, this air purifier works quite silently despite its mighty cleaning powers.
You can, therefore, sleep like a baby or focus on the job at hand in the office.
I had earlier stated that you can adjust the lighting to dim, bright, or even off if you so wish.
Additionally, it has a timer so you can programme it to go off automatically after running for 2/4/8 hours, for example, at night.
Remember to change the Honeywell hpa300 filters as soon as you see the warning on the filter replacement indicators.
Honeywell HPA100: Power ratings and comparative energy efficiency
I know you could be worried that this could send your energy bills skyrocketing but does it?
Well, the Honeywell draws in about 130 watts when at the highest fan setting.
To put this into perspective, the Germguardian ac4825 uses just 56 watts while its sister Honeywell hpa100 is even better (it uses 48 watts) on a maximum setting.
This clearly tells you that despite being energy star rated, it’s not the most eco-friendly air purifier around.
Honeywell HPA300: Room capacity
While it falls short when it comes to energy efficiency, it fairs much better in its coverage.
According to the manufacturer, it neutralizes airborne particles wonderfully even in rooms as big as 465 sq. feet.
This is nearly triple the size managed by the Germguardian ac4825 (167 Square feet) and Honeywell hpa100 (155 square feet).
It also beats the pricier winix c555 air purifier (360 square feet).
It maintains an air filtration and circulation rate of 5x per hour, same as the Honeywell HPA100.
Honeywell HPA100: Warranty and support
Like other leading lights from Honeywell’s series of versatile air purifiers, this comes with a 5 year limited warranty.
Honeywell has traditionally offered excellent customer service and their support team is very helpful if you need your purifier checked or any other assistance.

What I like about the product
- Very powerful fan.
- The turbo setting is super-efficient.
- Looks pretty nice
What I don’t like about the product
- The filters are somewhat pricey.
Conclusion/my opinion
The Honeywell HPA 300 straightforward operation, 4 cleaning speeds, and quick work makes it a top option for extra-large rooms.
Add the convenient shutoff timer and the compact design and you begin to see why it has been an ever-present in list if top selling air purifiers.
On the whole, despite its rather costly replacement filters, it could prove to be an inspired investment.
